Since
her first job in veterinary medicine in 1970, Carla has worked in general
practice, emergency veterinary medicine and surgery prior to deciding
on dermatology as her long-term home. Although her formal education was
in architecture at IIT in Chicago, her first love has always been veterinary
medicine. She has been the practice administrator for the dermatology
department since 1999 and enjoys attending continuing education meetings
on clinical medicine topics as well as veterinary practice management.
She lives "over the border" in southeastern Wisconsin with her
wonderful husband, brilliant son, 2 "not-so-brilliant" retrievers
(Elvis and Kayo) and a domestic shorthaired cat (Velcro). She enjoys travel,
needlework and is licensed in wildlife rehabilitation, with a special
interest in squirrels and birds of prey.
