Preparing for Emergencies
What do I do if I have an emergency?
Call ahead (847) 459-7535. We want to be prepared for your arrival and we may have instructions for you even before coming to the hospital. Of course, it’s okay to just arrive, but a phone call first helps us to have everything we may need ready for you and your pet.
How do I know whether it is something that can wait until my regular veterinarian is open tomorrow?
Give us a call and speak with one of our experienced technicians. But keep in mind that without seeing your pet, we cannot be sure that the problem you are describing is something that can wait. If you are concerned, the best thing to do is to come in and have a doctor examine your pet. Then, we can either recommend treatment right away or give you the peace of mind that it is okay to wait for your regular veterinarian in the morning.
How do I get there?
Refer to our directions page or just enter our address (1515 Busch Parkway, Buffalo Grove, IL, 60089) into your GPS
How do I avoid an emergency visit?
Get regular health exams with your primary care veterinarian for each pet in your household. This is the best way to catch problems before they become serious. Also, have your pet examined at the first sign of illness. Animals are very good at hiding their symptoms and by the time you notice them, it may already be a serious condition.
