What to Expect from your ER Visit

When you first arrive, please check in at the front desk. If you need help getting your pet out of the car, we will be happy to bring out a gurney or just give you a hand.

A technician will come out shortly to briefly examine your pet and ask you a few questions. This information will be used to triage your pet. As an emergency hospital, we may have several critical cases in the ICU as well as other emergencies, such as yours, coming through our front doors. We will do the best we can to see you in a timely fashion, but we will always see the most critical cases first.

The Client Service Representative will give you some paperwork to fill out. Please be complete and thorough—we do not give out any of your personal information. Complete contact information is very important so that we can reach you.

A doctor will then thoroughly examine your pet and discuss your pet’s symptoms and history with you. The doctor will then discuss treatment options with you and create a treatment plan.

A Client Service Coordinator will review the treatment plan (including costs) in detail and discuss payment options CareCredit with you. We also accept MC, Visa, Discover and American Express. If you still have questions or you need to review other options, you can speak with the doctor again at any time. Payment of the low end of the treatment plan is expected at the time of admission into the hospital.

You will receive daily updates about your pet as well as financial updates. If the treatment plan is changed or extended, additional payments may be required.

When your pet is released from the hospital, a technician will review your discharge instructions with you and your bill will be finalized. You can call us at any time if you have more questions after you leave the hospital.
