SERVICES

Veterinary Medical Referral Services' internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, and oncology departments are dedicated to meeting the demands of the referral veterinarians, patients and pet owners of northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

VMRS includes you as part of our team. We respect the long-term relationship you have with your client so we strive to present you with real-time information on the progress of the patient via phone, fax and E-mail. We want you to feel that we provide an extension of the services you offer your patients.

VMRS understands the sense of urgency that pet owners feel when a diagnosis of a serious medical condition is suspected. We will see your patient quickly after you determine the need for a consultation and counsel them so they may make an informed decision on the best course of action for their companion. As part of our team, we pro-vide you with telephone or E-mail consultations that answer some of your clients questions while they are still in your office.

Our oncology team crosses department lines and includes our:

  • Oncologists, Surgeons, Radiologist
  • Veterinary technicians
  • Radiation therapist

This team approach assures that the patient receives the best care possible while the pet owner is compassionately guided through a maze of difficult decisions.

VMRS is able to offer complete service in radiation oncology through our state-of-the-art linear accelerator. Now your patients can receive advanced cancer care in a convenient and easily accessible manner. To follow is a short list of cancers that can be definitively or palliatively treated with radiation therapy:
  • Anal Sac Adenocarcinoma
  • Basal Cell Carcinoma
  • Brain and Spinal Tumors
  • Ceruminous Gland Carcinoma
  • Fibrosarcoma
  • Hemangiopericytoma
  • Lymphoma
  • Mammary Gland Adenocarcinoma
