Internal Medicine

Dr. Mordecai started out his career in veterinary medicine as a veterinary technician. Today, he is a specialist in internal medicine.  He continues his education by attending veterinary conferences and visiting universities to learn novel interventional procedures.  This passion for education extends to Dr. Mordecai’s client relationships.  He believes in giving his clients all the information he can, so that they can make the most educated choices about their pet’s care.

Chosen Profession
"I really like the thought process of internal medicine. I particularly enjoy the challenge of identifying the problem and treating the patient. Medicine is not a linear science; you are all over the place putting obscure problems together to help the patient. Sometimes there are multiple problems happening together and other times multiple problems can be explained by one problem. That is one of the largest challenges of an internist. As an internist, we see all facets of medicine and I enjoy the variety that internal medicine provides."

Inspiring Case
"I have been treating a patient with diabetes and hyperthyroidism for 2 years. She has come into the hospital almost weekly for 2 months because she continues to become ill. The owner has been very devoted to her and has continued to trust my abilities. I feel like the client has become a friend because we have been through so much together. The patient is feeling much better mostly because her owner has not given up on her."
