Surgery

With more than 20 years experience as a veterinarian and surgeon, Dr. Paré is a leader and former educator in the field of veterinary surgery. He spent two years as a clinical instructor and lecturer in small animal surgery at the University of Montreal. Dr. Paré did his surgical residency at Veterinary Specialty Center and his education continues at VSC today as he learns from his colleagues and each new challenge he faces in the operating room.

Fixing the patient
"When I was young, I would often observe and later help my dad as he worked in carpentry and performed all types of repairs. It was great pre-surgical training. As I reflect today on the work I did with my father, it prepared me for the more complex and important challenges that I address as a surgeon."

Osmosis learning
"I had the opportunity to spend two years as a clinical instructor and lecturer in small animal surgery at the University of Montreal. It was a great time to grow as a surgeon, and at the same time, to help students along their path towards earning their DVM degrees. But I still learn a great deal today, because there is also 'osmosis' learning that occurs working with the Veterinary Specialty Center's very talented and knowledgeable team of surgeons and specialists."

Love of the profession
"I feel very fortunate to be in a position where I can provide high-level and compassionate care for the furry friends who provide unconditional love to our families."
