Surgery
Dr. Brdecka joins the VSC team with over 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine. From an early age, Dr. Brdecka was a problem-solver who enjoyed challenging projects that required him to use his hands. From this, he decided to choose a career path in veterinary surgery. Dr.Brdecka enjoys the instant gratification that being a surgeon provides.
Communicating with Clients…
“Communication is the glue that holds together a successful relationship with everyone (the client, primary veterinarian, staff and technicians that care for the patient) involved in the care of the patient. It keeps everyone on the same page and allows everything to run smooth from the initial consult to a full recovery.”
One of My Most Inspiring Cases…
“Recently I was inspired by a 12 year old boy and his dog Scout. Scout needed surgery to treat cruciate ligament problems. The surgery went well and at the recheck I was informed by the boy’s mother that what we did for Scout, inspired her son to pursue veterinary medicine. He wanted to help others the way we helped him.”
Philosophy of Patient Care…
“Patient care is not just about caring for the patient when hospitalized. In my opinion, patient care starts when I first meet the patient and client in the exam room. From there, I evaluate the patient and provide the information that is needed to make an informed decision about what treatment will work best for the family and pet. Patient care then carries on to the procedure and post-operative time spent in the hospital but it doesn’t end there. It continues through the full recovery process.”
Outside of Veterinary Medicine…
“When I’m not working, I enjoy bike riding, fishing, traveling, woodworking, skiing and spending time with my family and friends.”
