Monitoring_opt

From the moment your pet begins the sedation process, he or she has a technician assigned to monitor the developments through the entire procedure including recovery. Advanced monitoring and supportive measures include:

  • Constant rate infusions of drugs for support of blood pressure or control of heart rate
  • Total intravenous anesthesia
  • Forced air warming blankets and in-circuit humidifiers for temperature support
  • Advanced monitoring techniques such as direct blood pressure monitoring or central venous pressure monitoring
  • Reversal of anesthetic drugs if needed
  • Direct supervision by an anesthesiologist for high-risk cases
  • Use of a ventilator if necessary to help a pet breathe optimally under anesthesia
