“Growing up I had always wanted to be a veterinarian, I love working with animals and solving problems, so it was a perfect fit for me. I also enjoy helping people develop and grow a bond with their furry companions. As a veterinarian, you have an important role in maintaining the human-animal bond through medical treatment and preventative care.
The specialty I am most interested in is oncology. I found that oncologists have the task of also helping people. Cancer can be a scary topic for most people, and part of an oncologist’s job is to counsel the family members and help them during this difficult time. I got into veterinary medicine to help animals, but during vet school, I learned that I want to be able to help people as well.”
