Get to Know the Expertise, Skill, and Heart Behind VSC

“I decided to become a veterinarian because I wanted to make a profound impact on the health of animals, humans, and the planet. I have always been enamored by the beauty of nature and the life forms that flourish within it, and as a child always sought out animals for comfort, wonder, and joy. After volunteering at many animal shelters, zoos, and aquariums, I found my life calling to be helping animals and protecting species from extinction. For me, it was through veterinary medicine that I felt I could achieve this lifelong mission.

The ultimate goal is to specialize in zoological medicine, with a focus on aquatic animal health. I have always had a deep love for the ocean, and have witnessed many of the unfortunate consequences of overfishing, ocean pollution, and global warming, to name a few. My hope is to combine my skills in clinical medicine, along with strong interests in research and policy, to make a difference for aquatic animals on a national and global level.”
