As part of this commitment, VSC is proud to sponsor the Pre-Vet Summer Enrichment Program. This intensive initiative is specifically designed to provide high-potential pre-veterinary students with unparalleled exposure to specialty practice, advanced clinical skills, and professional mentorship. Through this program, we aim to prepare and empower the next generation of leaders in veterinary medicine.
What Will Students Experience in Our Program?
Our Pre-Vet Summer Enrichment Program gives students an in-depth look at the diverse specialties and disciplines within veterinary medicine. Participants will:
- Spend time on the clinic floor shadowing veterinarians
- Be paired with a mentor for personalized guidance on preparing for veterinary school applications
- Experience the daily responsibilities across different veterinary specialties
- Observe a variety of small animal cases firsthand
- Receive valuable advice and training to become a strong veterinary school candidate
- Gain meaningful, hands-on experiences to prepare for a future in veterinary medicine
This program is designed to help students build skills, confidence, and insight into the veterinary field.
Program Specifics
- 2- to 4-week course during the summer
- $650/week stipend
- Housing provided
- Assigned to a DVM mentor
Application Requirements
- Be a current junior or senior at an accredited college or a recent graduate
- Are planning on applying for veterinary school
- Have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher
- Resume or CV
- Short essay describing your desire to be a veterinarian and how this program will help
- Possible virtual interview prior to acceptance
