Emergency Medicine
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be a vet. I am passionate about understanding animals, solving problems and love seeing the bond that people have with their pets. I remember a moment when I was 12, I shadowed a veterinarian and watched a cherry eye surgery, and was completely engaged. From that moment I knew that veterinary medicine was the career I wanted to pursue, and my passion for the field has continued to grow since then.
I am most interested in emergency medicine. I enjoy the variety of cases that can be seen in the emergency room, and the breadth of knowledge and skills that emergency work requires. The human animal bond also shines bright in emergency situations, as communication with owners is the heart of emergency work, and so many people come together with a common goal of helping someone’s furry family member.
