NBC 5 Features Veterinary Specialty Center in Spotlight on Blastomycosis in Pets

We’re proud to share that Veterinary Specialty Center was recently featured in a NBC 5 Chicago news story focusing on blastomycosis in pets, a serious fungal infection that pet owners in the Midwest should be aware of.

Blastomycosis is caused by a fungus found in moist soil and decomposing organic matter. Pets, especially dogs, can inhale fungal spores while outdoors, which may lead to respiratory illness or more severe systemic infection if not diagnosed and treated early.
