“I was raised in a military family, interacting with my dad’s German short hair pointers used for hunting purposes and having a keen interest in riding horses during high school and college days. This allowed me to develop an interest in animal behavior and physiology which lead me to pursue veterinary medicine as a career. It also brought me much closer to help out these animals with their health conditions.
Shadowing a veterinarian and having an interest in anatomy during vet med school days broadened my interest in the surgical field. After getting ECFVG certification in 2019, My training at Round Lake Animal Hospital, as well as Miami Veterinary Specialists, has further ignited that passion. I think surgeons are creative problem solvers using their talents to develop new techniques and improve upon old ones. I have a special interest in dealing with orthopedic surgeries. It would be an honor for me as well to be the first board-certified small animal surgeon from Pakistan once completing my surgical residency.”
