“I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was a child and never considered another career path ever since. I started volunteering at shelters when I was 12 years old and by the time I was in high school, I was spending my summers shadowing veterinarians. During veterinary school, I always thought I would specialize in cardiology or neurology but I ended up falling in love with shelter medicine during my fourth year. I developed a true passion for taking care of homeless animals and providing low-cost medical services for people who love their animals but have severe financial limitations.”
